Larry Jones shows
I have always had a huge passion for music, which probably started in the late 60’s as a Northern Soul fan travelling every weekend from North Wales to Wigan Casino, the Twisted Wheel in Manchester or the Torch in Stoke.
During my 27 years in the RAF, I was a mobile D.J. hosting and playing at Mess functions, Weddings and other celebrations. I was also resident D.J. at a Club in Norwich. Of course, these were the days of Vinyl, mirror balls and rope lights, not forgetting to ensure you had your eraser with you to keep the stylus steady.
After working at British Aerospace near to Lytham for 20 years, I have now retired to North Yorkshire with my wife Kim and jumped at the chance to volunteer for Bay Trust Radio 2 years ago.
I host the Drive Shows on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and also the Saturday Sports Show. I love being part of the community, and by being a hospital Radio D.J. feel that I am doing what I can to support a worthwhile charity and also to make a patients stay in hospital that little bit more enjoyable.
Away from music, I love hiking, cycling and enjoying our beautiful countryside.
