World Cup: England stars warm down with a dip in the pool

England’s World Cup squad warmed down after beating Tunisia by larking about in the pool at their hotel in Russia.
With their campaign underway after Monday’s last-gasp 2-1 victory, the squad was pictured splashing about on inflatable unicorns.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, defenders Keiran Trippier, Ashley Young and Harry Maguire and midfielders Jordan Henderson and Jesse Lingard were among those clearly enjoying the unconventional recovery session following their Group G opener in Volgograd.
Manchester United player Lingard tweeted: “Recovery day, don’t worry @youngy18 , I’ve got you #JLingzPhotography”
At one point several of the players appeared to be racing the inflatables, before Pickford took a tumble.
The players, who only arrived back at their Repino base at 6am on Tuesday, also took to the basketball court and performed stretches in the gym.
Those who started the match were given the morning off to rest but by the evening they joined the remainder of the squad for the recovery session.
The Three Lions’ next group match is against minnows Panama in Nizhy Novgorod on Sunday.
Victory could seal their passage into the knockout rounds before they take on tournament dark horses Belgium in Kaliningrad next Thursday.
They will hope to sink the Central American outsiders sooner than they overcame a stubborn Tunisia team.
Southgate’s men needed an added time goal by captain Harry Kane – his second of the match – to seal a 2-1 win.
