American singer Willie Nelson has cancelled his tour because of a “breathing problem”.

The 86-year-old country music star apologised on Twitter on Wednesday, telling fans: “I’m sorry to cancel my tour, but I have a breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out.”
Nelson had just finished performing with singer Alison Krauss in Toledo, Ohio, and he was next scheduled to appear on Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
“I’ll be back”, he added.
The Always On My Mind singer’s post was met with an influx of sympathetic responses from fans.
One Twitter user replied: “Get well soon and you take it easy. It’s not worth your health for a tour. You take care of you first.”
Another said: “We love you, Willie. get well soon.”
Nelson was due to perform to fans at the Farm Aid Concert with John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Neil Young and Bonnie Raitt on 21 September, and his tour was set to end on 29 November in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Last summer, Nelson cancelled his appearance at the Outlaw Music Festival due to illness, along with several other dates.
