Whyte vs Parker: Kell Brook, Katie Taylor and Conor Benn on Whyte-Parker bill on Sky Sports Box Office

Written by on 13/06/2018

Kell Brook, Katie Taylor and Conor Benn all feature on an exciting undercard for Dillian Whyte’s heavyweight clash with Joseph Parker.

Brook battles Canadian Brandon Cook in a world title eliminator as he targets the champions in the super-welterweight division on the Whyte-Parker bill at The O2 on July 28, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Unified world champion Taylor puts her WBA and IBF belts at stake against American Kimberly Connor, an IBF mandatory title challenger.

There is a welterweight rematch for Benn as he faces Cedrick Peynaud in a second fight, seven months after he climbed off the canvas twice to outpoint the Frenchman in a thrilling encounter.

“July 28 is a huge night of boxing with a brilliant 50-50 heavyweight match-up and a stacked card beneath it,” said promoter Eddie Hearn.

“Kell is back at the scene of his epic shootout with Gennady Golovkin to face highly-ranked Canadian Brandon Cook in a world title eliminator that will put him in pole position for a shot at all the world champions.

“Irish sensation Katie Taylor returns to The O2 to defend her WBA and IBF world titles against mandatory challenger Kimberley Connor and Conor Benn rematches Cedrick Peynaud for his first title after their 2017 fight of the year contender.

“There is still plenty more to be added this week including one major title fight – roll on July 28!”

Rising light-heavyweight star Joshua Buatsi also has a sizeable step-up in his seventh fight, taking on former British title challenger Ricky Summers in his first 10-round contest.

In the main event, Whyte risks his world title ambitions against Parker, who makes a swift return to Britain after becoming the first man to take Anthony Joshua the distance in their world title unification clash in March.

‘The Body Snatcher’ has vowed to outdo British rival Joshua by inflicting the first stoppage defeat on the tough New Zealander.

“There’s going to be blood, pain and a knockout. I’m bang up for this,” said Whyte.
