Watch Wayne Rooney’s brilliant 30-yard free-kick winner for DC United, which continued their fine form since his arrival.
His superb goal after 18 minutes looked worthy of winning any game, and so it proved with only Yamil Asad’s offside finish and Luciano Acosta’s effort which rattled the crossbar coming close to adding to DC’s lead.
Rooney has 10 league goals in 16 starts since moving Stateside, at which point United were rock bottom of the Eastern Conference.
But they have moved up to sixth in the table, and into the end-of-season play-off places, on the back of four wins from five and no defeats in nine games.
