Man dies after ‘rocks thrown’ in grounds of castle in Kent

A man has died after rocks were thrown in the grounds of a castle in Kent.
Police were called to a disturbance at the grounds of Lullingstone Castle in Eynsford at 5.21pm on Thursday.
The force said: “It was reported that rocks were being thrown.
“A man later died at the scene and officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating.”
A police cordon has been put in place at the scene and a police helicopter was seen flying near the castle.
Lullingstone Castle is a tourist attraction which features a 15-acre lake and several gardens.
It was built in 1497 and has been owned by the same family since the 15th century.
The castle usually opens for three days a week during spring to autumn, but has been shut during the coronavirus pandemic.
