Two men due in court over murders of gangland pair Paul Massey and John Kinsella

A second man has been charged with the murders of gangland figures Paul Massey and John Kinsella.
Steven Boyle, a 35-year-old from Heywood in Greater Manchester, is due to appear before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He was charged on Monday night.
Mark Fellows, 37, is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on the same charges.
Paul Massey died after being shot four times as he got out of a car outside his home in Salford on Sunday 26 July 2015.
A murder investigation was subsequently launched, with inquiries being carried out by Greater Manchester Police and Merseyside Police.
Last month, Kinsella was shot dead while walking his dog with his partner on a footpath in Rainhill on Merseyside.
The attempted murder charge relates to Kinsella’s partner, who was shot at as she fled the scene of the killing.
Five other people who were arrested last week have been released under investigation.
Kinsella was a mob “fixer” who once stopped a gangster terrorising former Liverpool and England star Steven Gerrard.
The 53-year-old served time in prison for his part in a £41,000 robbery in Grantham, Lincolnshire, in 2006.
Massey, 55, was a well-known figure in his native Salford and was involved with security companies that operated in Manchester and beyond.
His reputation grew during Manchester’s drug-fuelled rave scene during the 1990s.
