Motorists are being warned that the A590 is closed between the Greenodd and Meathop roundabouts following a collision. A one-vehicle collision was reported to police at Newby Bridge at 12.37pm. A diversion is in place along the A5084 and then onto the A591. The A590 is expected to be closed for some time.

Police are warning drivers that the M6 is currently closed in both directions between junctions 35 and 36 after a number of vehicles were reportedly in collision. Emergency services are attending. Motorists are asked to drive with care on the approach to this area and to drive to the conditions they face.
