The producers of James Bond have revealed the upcoming film will be called No Time To Die.

Daniel Craig will star in the secret agent’s 25th outing, released in the UK on 3 April 2020.

The title was revealed in a tweet from the official 007 account.

Oscar-winner Rami Malek has been confirmed to play the villain, with Fleabag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge due to add a bit of comedy magic to the script.

Other new cast members include Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch and Game Night actor Billy Magnussen, while Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Naomie Harris and Jeffrey Wright will all reprise their roles.

Social media users have been quick to point out that the film shares a name with an episode of the detective drama Columbo.

Ellis Cashmore wrote: “From 1992: I hope the producers of Columbo patented this clever title, “No Time To Die.”

The title was revealed after rumours it might be called Shatterhand sparked ridicule on social media.

In March, the movie’s producer, Barbara Broccoli, hinted it was not the final title when she autographed a logo designed by a 007 fan.

Above the Shatterhand logo, she wrote: “It’s not.”

True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga is in charge of the latest film after the departure of Danny Boyle last year.

The British director quit the film “due to creative differences” in August 2018.

Craig previously stated he would rather “slash my wrists” than return to the role of Bond, but later said he made the remarks two days after he had finished shooting Spectre – and was exhausted.

Idris Elba had been rumoured to replace Daniel Craig after it was reported Broccoli had said it was now “time” for a black actor to take the role.

Elba sent the rumour-mill into overdrive last year when he posted a cryptic tweet which read: “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba.”
