Rockefeller art auction: How much did works by Picasso, Monet and Mattise sell for?

Works from the art collection of billionaire David Rockefeller, which includes paintings by Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet, fetched more than $646m (£476m) on the first night at auction.

Mr Rockefeller, who died in March 2017 aged 101, amassed a huge collection of paintings, furniture, ceramics and decor throughout his colourful life.
Much of it is being auctioned off at Christie’s in New York in a three-day sale.
The first night of the auction broke the record for a private art collection, with the proceeds going to charities the philanthropist supported in his lifetime.
