The British star, who will appear in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker later this year, shared a photo of his dark green Land Rover on Tuesday after it was taken from outside his house.

The Oscar-nominated actor wrote to his followers: “If by any chance you see the number plate LC62 0GW, please let me know.”

Grant later tweeted a video where he explained how an employee at Vodafone Automotive helped him trace the car.

The actor said: “The power of Twitter. George Taylor from Vodafone Automotive saw my tweet about my car being stolen last night outside my house.

“He tweeted that Vodafone Automotive had this tracking system, and found out the previous owner of my car had one.

“I paid through the nose to have it reactivated, and we discovered (the car) located an hour later in Sutton.

“An amazing policeman, Dan, from the Metropolitan Police, who was very calm, gave me expert advice, and I’ve got my car back – I’m so grateful.”

The actor also wrote that the car had been found “albeit a bit bashed”.

Vodafone UK retweeted Grant’s post and wrote: “Awesome news that @RichardEGrant got his car back with the help of @Vodafone_Auto vehicle tracking.”

Twitter user Alex Oates replied to Grant’s post: “Outstanding result! Well done to everyone involved.”

Lois Smallwood posted: “Sorry it’s bashed but so pleased you got it back.”

Grant received an Oscar nomination for his role in Can You Ever Forgive Me? in 2019.
