Written by on 24/02/2019

Three people have been injured after a fire broke out at a house in Bristol.

A suspected explosion ripped away the front of the home.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in Hartcliffe at about 7.50pm.

First aid was administered to three people at the scene – and witnesses described a woman hanging out of a window after the blast.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found a fire within the building with significant structural damage and committed two firefighters in breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, while other firefighters assisted in administering first aid to three casualties on the scene.

“Crews are currently working with police, ambulance, and the local authority to make the scene safe and assess the integrity of the building.”
