TV star Kirstie Allsopp has said she flies a different class to her children to avoid spoiling them.

The Location, Location, Location presenter has told the Sun newspaper that while she travels in premium class, her two pre-teen sons travel in economy class “only a few rows away”.
She said it was “an absurd waste of money and very spoiling” to upgrade Bay, 12, and Oscar, 10, and would rather spend money on the holiday than flights.
“When we fly as a family, the boys do fly separately from Ben (partner Ben Andersen) and me if we’re not in economy together,” said the 46-year-old, adding that the family sat together when the boys were smaller but not always now that they are older.
“Club Class should be a huge treat you’ve worked hard for,” she said.
“If kids get used to it, what do they have to work towards? It seems like an absurd waste of money and very spoiling.”
Allsopp is best known for presenting property TV shows in which she and her colleague Phil Spencer help people buy a property.
Allsopp has been defending her decision on social media in the face of some criticism.
In reply to one tweet, she suggested it was not done to “teach” her children anything.
“It’s not done to ‘teach them’ it’s done because we take a shed load of holidays and if they flew with me in Premium Economy or Club we’d be taking fewer holidays, less is more.”
And in reply to another tweet, she said: “People parent differently, I think letting 10 year olds have social media accounts is far more risky than anything that could happen on a plane, and the biggest dangers come from adolescent mental health issues. #horsesforcourses.”
Allsopp met Ben Andersen 14 years ago when his sons Hal and Orion were aged five and two, they have since had two sons together, Bay, 11, and Oscar, nine.
Chef Gordon Ramsay has previously said he did not pay for his four children to fly first class because it was not necessary for them to travel that way.
