Gareth Southgate’s side will be hoping to make it two wins from two in Nizhny Novgorod against the Central American side who had just 38 per cent possession in their 3-0 defeat to Belgium on Monday.

One of the selection issues facing the England boss will be whether to stick with three centre-backs against a side who were content to sit back and defend, so Southgate might seek to inject more creativity in midfield.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marcus Rashford both had positive impacts in the second half in Volgograd after replacing Raheem Sterling and Dele Alli, with the latter being assessed after a quad injury.
