Peter Kay announces new UK tour after he admits missing stand up

Written by on 17/11/2017

Bolton comic Peter Kay returns to live stand-up comedy from next April for the first time since 2010.

The Bafta award-winning writer and actor’s return is called ‘Have Gags, Will Travel’.

He has released a 30-second teaser video that shows him carrying a carpet for his nan’s new home.

The comic is seen being shouted at by a man going past asking when he’s back on tour.

He said: "I really miss it. I know how lucky I am to be making television series and have really loved these past few years working on Car Share, but I miss doing stand-up.

"As terrifying as it is, when it works there’s nothing more fun and exciting. Plus, a lot has happened in the last eight years, with Trump, Twitter and my Nan getting her front bush trimmed at the age of 96.

"I can’t wait to get back up on stage." he said.

His tour starts next April and takes in 26 dates across 2018 and 2019.

But the shows are restricted to people aged 15 and over.

The comedian has also featured in a new advert called Bread and Prejudice last month to commemorate the 141st anniversary of a well-know bread company.

Tickets for his 2018-2019 tour go on sale on Sunday.
