Man charged following Blackpool death.

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Blackpool have charged a man.

Police were called around 2.15am on Monday (January 15) following reports of a sudden death in Clinton Avenue, Blackpool.

A 63-year-old man was found with head injuries and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been named as George Crawley.

A post-mortem has yet to establish a cause of death.

Following investigation a 63-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Geoffrey Howard, 63, of Clinton Avenue, Blackpool, has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent and remanded to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, January 18).

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following Mr Crawley’s death.

Temp Det Chief Insp Gareth Willis, of Lancashire Police, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts remain with Mr Crawley’s family at this time.

“We are continuing to appeal for information in connection with his death, in particular the movements of both men from around 6pm on Sunday (January 14).

“We want to build a picture of the events of Sunday evening into Monday morning and hope the public can assist with our enquiries. Any information could prove useful to our investigation.

“Furthermore, we know both men lived together at the address in Clinton Avenue for some time. We want to gather more information about the lifestyles they led in the months before Mr Crawley’s death. Again, if you can help us, please contact police.”
