Lydia O’Sullivan: British woman missing in Fiji found safe and well at eco retreat

The family of a British woman who reportedly went missing in Fiji says she has been found safe and well at an eco retreat and had been “oblivious” to the search.
Lydia O’Sullivan had not contacted her family since 26 February when she arrived in the South Pacific country.
Cumbria Police launched an appeal to find Ms O’Sullivan, who is originally from Whitehaven.
But now the Namosi Eco Retreat has posted a photo of the 23-year-old woman on their Facebook page and thanked her for staying with them for the week.
They wished her “safe travels” and said “the village kids miss you already”.
Her sister Franciene Nicholson has praised police in the UK and on the island for their hard work and dedication.
She also said the people of Fiji went the “extra mile” to find her sibling.
Ms Nicholson wrote: “We are absolutely elated that Lydia O’Sullivan has been found safe and well on an eco retreat in the Fijian mountains.
“My mother has just spoken to her and she is safe and well oblivious to the world search party looking for her.”
She added: “The Fijian people have been so kind.
“They all went the extra mile to help find Lydia.”
She continued: “Sometimes social media is portrayed in a negative light, but today is a great day for the power of Facebook.
“Thank you Facebook, you found Lydia.”
