Ambleside

Police are investigating a reported burglary that occurred at the Cornish Bakery in Ambleside. The incident occurred overnight between the 4th and 5th of November.

Entry was forced to the property.

Police are appealing for anybody who may have been in the area and seen anything suspicious to report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit , quoting incident number 44 of 5th November. You can also phone on 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

 

Striding Edge
Police are appealing for information following the death of a 55-year-old man from Cheshire, on Striding edge.

Police were called to the incident at 4:46pm on the 2nd November. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

Officers are appealing for information from members of the public who were in the Glenridding/Striding Edge area on Tuesday 2nd November between 11:00am and 5pm, and saw the 55-year-old-man.

He is described as white, with medium-length brown hair and glasses. He was wearing a red rain jacket, black waterproof trousers and walking boots and he was carrying a Red Backpack.

The man was with a female, she is described as white of medium build, mid 50’s with dark brown shoulder length hair. She was wearing a red rain jacket and leopard print leggings in green and carrying a black backpack.

Kirby Stephen
Police are appealing for information following a report of criminal damage. The incident occurred on the morning of the 28th October, at the Market Square, Kirkby Stephen.

A Black Ford Kuga parked on the square received extensive scratching to the bodywork from a sharp object, on the nearside back door.
