Written by on 26/04/2021

The application process for the government’s one-off Restart Grants for South Lakeland businesses is now open.

The grants for businesses affected by the coronavirus restrictions are being administered by South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) in two strands – non-essential retail businesses (Strand One); and hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym or sport business premises (Strand Two).

In Strand One, businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or below will receive £2,667, a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 will receive £4,000 and a rateable value of £51,000 or over will receive £6,000.

In Strand Two, businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or below will receive £8,000, a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 will receive £12,000 and a rateable value of £51,000 or over will receive £18,000.

All information relating to restart grants, along with the application form can be found here: https://www.southlakeland.gov.uk/business-and-trade/business-support-grants-coronavirus-covid-19-1-april-2021-onwards

It should take no longer than 15 minutes to fill out the application form if you have everything with you to do so.  Applicants should consult the Restart Grant checklist on the website first.

The Restart Grant scheme is for businesses in the business ratings list only.

More details on other support available – including business rate relief, free business support and advice available to businesses in South Lakeland – can also be found on the SLDC website.
