Kevin Smith reveals he nearly died from ‘massive heart attack’

Movie director Kevin Smith, known for hits such as Clerks and Dogma, has revealed he suffered a “massive heart attack” which nearly killed him.

The US film-maker, actor, comic-book writer tweeted a selfie of himself in a hospital bed and suggested he was lucky to be alive.
The 47-year-old wrote: “After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack.
“The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”).
Smith performed at the Alex Theatre in California on Sunday at 6pm and was scheduled for a second gig at 9pm.
He tweeted: “If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!”
