Kendal man arrested under Communications Act

A 46-year-old Kendal man has been arrested under the Communications Act 2003.
The man was arrested on suspicion of ‘causing to be sent by public communication network a false message’, in relation to an alleged Facebook post that claimed a bomb was in a the boot of a Kendal car.
A Cumbria Police spokespersons said: “In the present climate of heightened terrorist activity we would like to take this chance to remind the public that comments such as this not only cause anxiety and distress to some members of the public but may lead to arrest and prosecution.”
