Gareth Bale’s move from Real Madrid to Jiangsu Suning off
Written by News on 29/07/2019
Gareth Bale’s proposed transfer to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning has fallen through, Sky Sports News understands.
Bale’s camp were in talks over a deal which would have seen the Welshman earn £1m-a-week, but it is now understood he will not move to China before their window closes on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old has been told he can leave Real after falling out of favour under Zinedine Zidane.
Last weekend, Zidane said Bale did not play in the pre-season defeat to Bayern Munich because he was close to moving on.
He added that Bale’s departure would be “best for everyone”, insisting it was nothing personal.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, was angered by Zidane’s comments, calling him a “disgrace” and questioning how he could show such little respect for a player “that has done so much for Real Madrid”.
Zidane hit back, however, insisting he has “never disrespected anybody – certainly not a player” and claimed Bale did not feature against Bayern because he refused to play.
Barnett has told Sky Sports News his client will not be leaving the Bernabeu this summer in a “makeshift” loan deal.
It is also understood Bale, who earns £550,000-a-week at Real, would need to be offered wages on par with the world’s top earners to tempt him away from Madrid.
