The Metropolitan police have confirmed that a man has been killed after being stabbed in Shepherd’s Bush in west London.
Police were called to Uxbridge Road at 9.20pm on Wednesday, 26 June following reports of a stabbing.
Police, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended and found the male, believed to be aged 18 suffering from a stab injury.
Despite the efforts of paramedics the teenager died at the scene a short while later.
Police are currently informing his next of kin.
A post-mortem will be held, as well as formal identification.
The Metropolitan Police say a large crime scene remains in place.
Detective Inspector Luke Wylie from Hammersmith and Fulham said: “A young man’s life has been tragically cut short. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this very difficult time. We are doing everything we can to apprehend those involved.
“Extra police and specialist units are working on the ground now to build a clearer picture of what took place and work to protect and reassure those in the local community. A Section 60 has been authorised in the Shepherds Bush and Notting Hill areas until the afternoon of Thursday, 27 June.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed what took place or anyone with information about those responsible to contact police immediately.”
A section 60 gives police the power to stop and search people on the street without giving a reason.
