Ex-PM David Cameron tells Sky News he ‘fully supports’ Theresa May

Former prime minister David Cameron has told Sky News he is in full support of Theresa May as she battles to get a Brexit deal.
Spotted walking past 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, the ex-Tory leader denied he was in Westminster to advise his successor.
He said: “I’m on my way to the Treasury. I fully support what she’s doing and want to let her get on with the job.”
The former premier added: “I’m doing some work on my book. You’re able to go in and see that papers that you saw, so I’m doing some research on my book, that’s what I’m doing.”
After quitting as both prime minister and an MP when he lost the EU referendum in 2016, Mr Cameron signed a £800,000 contract with publishers William Collins to pen his memoirs.
He famously bought a £25,000 shepherd’s hut in which to write, as well as taking on roles with a UK-China investment fund and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Mr Cameron is reported to have delayed the publication of his book until the UK’s departure from the EU in March next year, in order to prevent it distracting from the Brexit process.
He was recently reported to be considering a return to frontline politics, possibly as foreign secretary.
A friend of Mr Cameron told The Sun newspaper the ex-prime minister is “bored s***less” away from Westminster.
However, ex-Downing Street spin chief Sir Craig Oliver has since played down suggestions of a return to politics for his former boss.
