In 2010 Ian Hutchinson from Bingley became the first rider in history to win five consecutive races in a single TT fortnight and also marked the 8th win of his career.
Barley 3 months later whilst racing at Silverstone he was hit by another competitor which resulted in compound fractures to his tibia and fibula. He fought back from injury and returned to racing in 2011 however due to complications in 2012 he had to take a break from racing. It took nearly 30 operations on his left leg before he was able to begin his journey back to form.
He won the Macau Grand Prix at the end of 2013. In 2015 he was again able to enter the Isle of Man TT where he incredibly won 3 races.
More wins in 2016/17 meant that he has an incredible 16 TT victories!
On the 9th of June last year while racing in the senior TT Ian came off his Tyco BMW at the 27th Milestone while travelling at 130mph, he fractured femur and also caused further damage to his recently healed leg.
He has recently signed for Honda and did participate in the 2018 TT!
