EuroMillions: Anonymous British ticket-holder claims £123m jackpot

Written by on 24/06/2019

A lucky British ticket-holder has successfully claimed a £123m EuroMillions jackpot – but they have chosen to remain anonymous.

National Lottery operator Camelot confirmed on Monday that the ticket had been verified, and the total jackpot of £123,458,008 had been paid out.

The jackpot, which was drawn on 11 June, is the third largest to be won in the UK, and is the fourth EuroMillions jackpot win this year.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said it was “an amazing win”.

He added: “We look forward to supporting this ticket holder as they start to enjoy their life-changing prize.”

As the winner has requested anonymity, it is not known whether the claim was from an individual or a group.

The nine-figure windfall would be enough to place an individual on to The Sunday Times Rich List, which compiles the top 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK.

Colin and Chris Weir, from North Ayrshire in Scotland, retain their title for the UK’s biggest lottery winners after scooping £161m in July 2011.
