JK Rowling has said she has “fully recovered” after suffering “all symptoms” of coronavirus.

The Harry Potter author, 54, said she had not been tested for COVID-19.
She said she had instead used a breathing technique to get air into the base of her lungs and shared a video of a doctor advising people how to do it.
In a post on Twitter, she urged her 14.5 million followers to watch the demonstration by a doctor from Queen’s Hospital in Romford.
She said: “For last 2 weeks I’ve had all symptoms of C19 (tho haven’t been tested) & did this on doc husband’s advice.
“I’m fully recovered and technique helped a lot.”
In the video, the doctor shows how to take deep breaths, hold them and then cough, before lying flat on the stomach to allow air into the lungs.
After sharing the message, Rowling received several supportive messages, including from Fifty Shades Of Grey author EL James.
Rowling later tweeted her thanks for the “kind and lovely messages”, and said the technique “costs nothing, has no nasty side effects, but could help you/your loved ones a lot, as it did me”.
She also criticised social media influencers for pressuring followers to learn a new skill during the pandemic.
She said that for many simply “getting through something is more than enough”.
“If you’re a ‘life coach'”, she wrote, “who’s on here implying people are losers if they aren’t learning a new skill/building a brand while on lockdown, maybe stop. People have challenges you know nothing about”.
Rowling has previously spoken about her experience with depression as a single mother struggling to find work.
“Implying that people are lazy or unmotivated because they aren’t knocking out masterpieces daily isn’t inspiration, it’s a form of shaming,” she continued.
“Allowing ourselves to feel what we feel, and acknowledging that we have good reason to feel that way is a better route back to good mental health than beating ourselves up for not being superhuman.”
With the success of the Harry Potter franchise, Rowling became one of the richest women in the UK.
