A Scottish teenager has plunged to her death in Magaluf after trying to climb into her seventh-floor apartment, Spanish police said.
Natalie Cormack, 19, was locked out and fell trying to climb from one balcony to another on Friday morning, police believe.
A Civil Guard spokeswoman said she had been working in a bar in the party resort before she realised she had forgotten her keys.
She said Ms Cormack was believed to have gone to a friend’s home but it was not clear if the friends was home.
It is not clear if Mrs Cormack fell from her friend’s balcony as she tried to get onto her own at the Eden Rock apartment on Torrenova Street.
Mrs Cormack’s body was found on a restaurant terrace at roughly 10am local time, the Daily Record in Scotland reports.
The paper also reports that the teenager was originally from West Kilbridge in North Ayrshire.
A Civil Guard spokesperson at the Spanish island of Majorca’s regional headquarters in Palma said: “She had come home from work and did not have her keys to get into her flat.
“She fell from quite a height as she tried to get in another way.
“We are investigating.”
A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British national following her death in Spain, and our staff are in contact with the Spanish and UK police regarding the incident.”
Mrs Cormack death comes after a British man died in Majorca when he fell from a fifth-floor balcony in March.
The 22-year-old was found by a passerby in Calle Aragon in the island’s capital Palma.
