An armed police officer has been injured after being hit by a vehicle “at speed” in Tottenham, north London.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers were carrying out an “intelligence-led armed stop” of a vehicle in White Hart Lane at 11.32am.
But after the vehicle stopped, the driver “drove off at speed”, striking a firearms officer.
Paramedics from London Ambulance Service and doctors from London’s Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
The male officer was taken to hospital in an ambulance and the force confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening.
There have been no arrests and inquiries are ongoing to find the suspects and the vehicle.
Part of the road was closed off and the W3 bus was diverted in both directions.
