A woman has been stabbed to death and a man is in hospital after an incident at a London hotel.
The woman was found with serious injuries at the Holiday Inn on Bugsby’s Way in Greenwich just after 10am on Sunday.
She died at the scene, police said.
While emergency services workers were there, a man, who is believed to have known the woman, fell from a height.
He is in hospital under police guard with life-threatening injuries.
The Holiday Inn’s general manager, Umar Khattak, 38, said the pair had arrived at the hotel on Saturday.
It was the first day the hotel has been open to people other than NHS staff since the coronavirus lockdown began in March.
He said: “We don’t know exactly what happened. I was at home when I got a call from a staff member.
“There was some noise coming from the room and we had received calls from different guests about it. They said there was shouting.”
Mr Khattak said police were called and officers moved all guests out of the fifth floor.
The second floor looks out on to the ledge from which the man is believed to have fallen.
Both floors have been sealed off and police officers were still at the hotel on Sunday evening.
An officer and a sniffer dog were seen searching bushes at the front of the property and broken glass was scattered across part of the car park underneath a smashed fifth-storey window..
Guests were allowed to remain, as the hotel was only 20% full.
Police do not believe anyone else was involved but have appealed for any witnesses to come forward by calling 101.
