Forest of Dean: Two people arrested for murder after human remains found

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the discovery of human remains in the Forest of Dean.

A woman in her 20s, from Birmingham, and a man in his 30s, from Wolverhampton, have both been arrested and are still in custody.

The remains were found near Coleford, Gloucestershire, at 11.30pm on Tuesday evening.

No other information has been released as forensic tests take place.

In a brief statement, a Gloucestershire Police spokesman said road closures were in place on the A4136 between Monmouth and Coleford, and officers were on the scene as an investigation got underway.

He added: “Cordons are likely to remain in place for the rest of the day while enquiries continue to establish what has taken place and further forensic tests are being carried out on the remains.”
