Rapper Bugzy Malone ‘lucky to be alive’ after quad bike crash in Greater Manchester

Rapper Bugzy Malone has said he is “lucky to be alive” after suffering serious injuries in a quad bike crash.
The grime star was riding the vehicle and came off following a collision with a car in Bury, Greater Manchester, on the evening of 25 March.
It came two days after Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered a UK lockdown due to the spread of coronavirus.
Posting on social media for the first time since the crash, the 29-year-old, whose real name is Aaron Davis, shared photographs of the quad bike and his facial injuries.
“They tell me I’m lucky to be alive,” he tweeted. “I sustained serious injuries and at the time I lost consciousness but what I do remember is the none (sic) stop love, and just want to say thanks for all the well wishes and prayers you lot caught me off guard with all the support!”
The rapper added the hashtag “#ImOk”.
He was taken to hospital following the crash and was being assessed for his injuries, his management team said last week.
Rappers and other stars have joined fans in posting messages of support following the crash.
EastEnders star Jake Wood, known for playing Max Branning in the soap, tweeted: “Speedy recovery bro.”
Rapper Wiley posted following the crash: “Praying for all people involved in the @TheBugzyMalone Crash.”
Manchester City also sent a message of support on Twitter, writing: “Everyone at Manchester City sends their love and thoughts to Bugzy Malone. Wishing you a quick recovery.”

Police were called to Rochdale Road shortly before 9.20pm on Wednesday to reports of a collision between a quad bike and an Audi car.
No arrests were made and inquiries continue, Greater Manchester Police have said.
