Five terror arrests across London, Manchester and Peterborough

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences following raids in London, Manchester and Peterborough.
The men were detained on Monday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Those arrested were:
- A 21-year-old in Manchester on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism
- A 19-year-old man in Peterborough on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism
- A 23-year-old and a 22-year-old in north London on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism
- A 19-year old man in Peterborough on suspicion of encouraging terrorism.
All five men remain in custody and searches are being carried out across the three cities as part of a pre-planned operation.
Police said the arrests were not linked to the London Bridge attack in November, nor any upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations.
It added that there is not believed to be any imminent threat to the public.
