A vigil has been held to remember a 12-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car outside his school.
Harley Watson was killed when the vehicle crashed into a group of pupils outside Debden Park High School in Loughton, Essex on Monday afternoon.
Flowers have been left at the school since Tuesday morning and have grown in number during the week.
Candles, balloons, cuddly toys and a Tottenham Hotspur FC flag were also left along with tributes from those who knew the little boy.
Family friend Sarah Wicks joined the vigil and told Sky News: “He was always in a good mood. He was always charming with impeccable manners… he was so polite, so sincere, so much fun.”
She continued: “I know he is in heaven but it’s just tough for everyone here without him…. definitely a big chunk of my heart has gone up to heaven with him.”
Blue ribbons have been tied at various points outside the school gates in his memory, while blue and white balloons were released into the sky.
Notes with tributes to the 12-year-old included one from a fellow pupil. It read: “Dear Harley, sorry for your loss, I hope you live a better life wherever you go.”
A 23-year-old woman, along with six boys and three girls, were also hurt in Monday’s incident.
A man has been charged with murder and 10 counts of attempted murder.
