Shopkeeper, 82, fights off robber with her walking stick

An 82-year-old shopkeeper has been left with minor injuries after fighting off a robber with her walking stick.
CCTV footage of the incident at AJ and J Newsagents in Stoke-On-Trent shows elderly shop owner June Turner hitting the robber with her walking stick, and grappling with him as he tries to steal shop goods.
Mrs Turner is then knocked to the ground as the robber flees the scene with stolen cash and cigarettes.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it sent one ambulance to the scene on Tuesday and assessed a woman “who didn’t require any hospital treatment”.
A 28-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Meanwhile, Mrs Turner was reported to have suffered a black eye and was shaken up by the incident, but returned to her shop less than an hour later.
