Police are investigating the shooting of a buzzard in Northamptonshire.
Officers say it is a “criminal offence to shoot birds of prey, including buzzards”.
The injured bird was found off Shelton Road, near Hargrave in east Northamptonshire, on 25 March.
After it had been caught and taken to a vet, an X-ray confirmed it had been shot, Northamptonshire Police said.
A local wildlife charity is caring for the bird while it recovers.
