Man, 27, arrested after Everton and Millwall fans clash

A 27-year-old man has arrested after a football fan was left with life-changing facial injuries during brawls between Millwall and Everton supporters.
Fighting broke out between the two groups of fans on 26 January, before and after the FA Cup match.
The injured Everton supporter posted a picture of his face, which showed a long scar down the right side.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, attempted grievous bodily harm, and violent disorder. He was bailed until 28 February.
Detective Sergeant Matt Simpson, from the Metropolitan Police Public Order Investigation Team, said: “The disorder which we witnessed was absolutely shocking. It involved dozens of people and lasted for a number of hours.
“We are carrying out a large-scale investigation into the disorder, which left at least one person with a serious injury.
“We have hours of CCTV and hundreds of images which we are closely reviewing, and we have a team of experts working to identify those involved.”
Police described the fights as “absolutely shocking”.
