NBA round-up: Milwaukee Bucks record second straight victory over Toronto Raptors

Malcolm Brogdon made two three-pointers late in the fourth quarter, including the one for the go-ahead bucket with 40.7 seconds remaining, as the visiting Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Toronto Raptors 104-99 on Sunday.

Brogdon, who finished with 18 points, tied the game at 97 with just over a minute remaining before draining another shot from deep on the Bucks’ next possession.

Milwaukee (17-8) have now defeated the Raptors (21-7) twice this season and closed the gap at the top of the Eastern Conference to 2.5 games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Bucks and Brook Lopez also had 19 points, while Khris Middleton and Tony Snell scored 10 each.

Serge Ibaka led the Raptors with 22 points as Kawhi Leonard had a relatively quiet night with 20 points on 8-18 shooting from the field. Fred VanVleet scored 19 and Pascal Siakam added 17 for the Raptors, who have lost two in a row.

Kyle Lowry did not score a point for the Raptors for the first time since March 17, 2013, against the Miami Heat.

New Orleans Pelicans 116-108 Detroit Pistons

Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle combined to score 65 points as the New Orleans Pelicans overcame a limited performance from Anthony Davis to edge the Detroit Pistons 116-108 on Sunday.

Holiday had 37 points and Randle had 28 while Davis was limited to six points in 26 minutes as he played through an injured hip suffered in the first quarter.

Tim Frazier added 14 points and Nikola Mirotic scored 12 off the bench as the Pelicans won for the third time in five games to return to .500 at 14-14.

Blake Griffin scored 35 points, backup Langston Galloway added 24 and Andre Drummond had 23 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Pistons, who fell to 13-11 as they lost their fourth straight after a five-game winning streak.

Utah Jazz 97-110 San Antonio Spurs

DeMar DeRozan scored 26 points and Rudy Gay added 23 points and a career-high-tying 15 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs pulled away late to beat the Utah Jazz.

The win was the second straight for the Spurs and gave them consecutive victories for the first time since winning four straight in an eight-day span that started at the end of October and ended early November.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 27 points, while Ricky Rubio scored 26 and Rudy Gobert added 12 for Utah, whohad a two-game winning streak snapped.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 20 points for the Spurs, with Bryn Forbes scoring 15 points and Marco Belinelli adding a further 10 from the bench for San Antonio, which shot 52.8 percent from the floor.

The result left both sides on a 13-14 record and still off the pace in the Western Conference play-off race.

Charlotte Hornets 119-107 New York Knicks

Kemba Walker scored 25 points before sitting out the entire fourth quarter as the Charlotte Hornets rolled to an easy victory over the New York Knicks.

Walker, a native New Yorker, turned his only scheduled appearance in Madison Square Garden this season into another great performance.

He finished 8 of 20 from the field, hit four 3-pointers, and added six rebounds, six assists and four steals.

The Hornets improved to 13-13 by winning their second straight, as they followed up an impressive home win over Denver on Friday night.

Rookie Kevin Knox led the Knicks with 26 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 21 points and Frank Ntilikina added a further 18 as the Knicks dropped to 8-20.
