Hughie Fury waiting on IBF eliminator against Kubrat Pulev

Hughie Fury could be hours away from receiving an IBF final eliminator as he waits to see if Kubrat Pulev and Jarrell Miller can agree a deal before Tuesday’s deadline.
The British heavyweight champion is the next available opponent in the IBF rankings for Bulgarian Pulev, who is yet to finalise terms with New Yorker Miller for a bout which would decide the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s IBF belt.
Epic Sports and Entertainment won the purse bid to stage the fight, with Sofia listed as a likely location, and Miller’s manager Dmitry Salita admitted last week that the American was reluctant to travel to Bulgaria.
The IBF have confirmed that a 15-day period for Miller to accept the offer, or turn it down, will end on Tuesday.
“We went to the purse bid and Pulev won the purse bid, so we’re still waiting,” IBF Championships Chairman Lindsey E Tucker told Sky Sports.
Asked about the 15-day deadline, Tucker said: “Yes, it’s today, but it’s still early.”
Alexander Povetkin, ranked at No 4 by the IBF, is set to challenge Joshua in a WBA mandatory title fight, leaving Fury next at No 5 to receive an IBF eliminator against Pulev.
