Chris Coleman appointed head coach of Hebei China Fortune

Chris Coleman has been appointed as head coach of Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune, replacing Manuel Pellegrini.
Coleman was sacked by Sunderland in April when former owner Ellis Short revealed he had sold the club to a group led by Eastleigh chairman Stewart Donald.
The 48-year-old was unable to save the Black Cats from back-to-back relegations as they fell into League One at the end of this season.
Hebei China Fortune announced the news on their website, stating they had appointed Coleman as their new head coach.
“After a study, the club will appoint Christopher Patrick Coleman as head coach of Hebei Huaxia Happy Football Team,” the statement read.
“The former Wales team coach has been shortlisted for FIFA’s 2016 Best Coaches.”
Coleman was Wales’ most successful manager of all time as he led the national team to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, where they lost 2-0 to Portugal.
He left in November the following year, but lasted only six months at the Stadium of Light.
