Alex McLeish in talks with Scottish FA over becoming manager
Written by News on 14/02/2018
Alex McLeish has held talks with the Scottish FA about returning to the role of Scotland manager, according to Sky sources.
McLeish previously managed Scotland in 2007, when they narrowly missed out on qualification for Euro 2008.
He left the position after less than a year in charge to take over as Birmingham City manager.
On Tuesday the 59-year-old was installed as the odds-on favourite to be the man to replace his former Scotland and Aberdeen team-mate Gordon Strachan as the new national manager.
There is an SFA board meeting on Wednesday where McLeish’s possible return will be discussed, as well as the vacant chief executive position after Stewart Regan resigned on February 1.
Scotland play Costa Rica at Hampden on March 23 before an away game against Hungary four days later.
