Mark Hughes will take charge of Stoke for FA Cup tie at Coventry

Mark Hughes will take charge of Stoke for Saturday’s FA Cup third-round match at Coventry, Sky Sports News has learned.
The club’s owners are considering his future after a run of five defeats in their last seven matches, which has left them in the relegation zone.
But Stoke’s bosses are adamant they will not make any snap decision in the face of growing pressure from supporters, some of whom displayed banners demanding Hughes be sacked after the home defeat to Newcastle on New Years’ Day.
The owners, Peter and John Coates, will not make any call about the manager’s position this week, Sky Sports News has been told.
There is still a reluctance to change managers mid-season, but they are becoming increasingly concerned about the threat to Stoke’s Premier League status.
As Sky Sports News reported on Tuesday, Stoke’s hierarchy remain unconvinced whether there are any stronger managerial candidates currently available.
