Police motorcyclist and 91-year-old car passenger die in Berkshire crash

A 91-year-old car passenger and an on-duty police motorcyclist have died following a crash in Berkshire.
Thames Valley Police said the incident happened on the A4 Bath Road in Wargrave at about 1.50pm.
"The collision involved a car and motorcycle which was being ridden by on-duty police officer PC James Dixon," said a police statement.
"Sadly a passenger in the car and PC Dixon died following the incident. The passenger in the vehicle was a 91-year-old woman."
PC Dixon was based at Loddon Valley police station.
The driver of the car, a woman, was injured and taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Next of kin have been informed.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, as is standard procedure in such a case.
