Chris Pratt warns of ‘pervy dude’ doppelganger

Written by on 03/12/2017

Chris Pratt has warned his fans that a "pervy dude" is pretending to be him on Facebook, asking for women’s phone numbers.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy star shared a cautionary message on social media for his fans not to be fooled by the fake account.

"PERVY DUDE ALERT!!! (Not a joke) It’s confirmed: somebody is trying to pretend to be me on Facebook (and maybe other social media platforms)," he wrote.

"Apparently hitting on a lot of different female fans, trying to get their numbers and who knows what else. I’m not joking," he added.

"Please know, I find this behaviour reprehensible. If I find out who it is I’ll have their account shut down and seriously would like to punch them right in the GD mouth. You hear that impostor!? Stop."

The account appears to have been deleted since, and it is unclear who the impostor contacted or what he said.

Pratt told fans to always check for the blue certified checkmark next to his name on any social media accounts, and said he was afraid children would be fooled.

"Tell your siblings. Educate our young ones. It’s probably mostly kids who would fall for this," he wrote.

"Makes me sick. It terrifies me to think someone could be hurt, their feelings or much worse, by this impostor/potential predator," he added.

"I’ve had many, many people tell me about this. It’s not an isolated incident. If anyone is in contact with this person block them immediately."

Pratt’s real Facebook has 3.7 million followers while his Instagram has 13.9 million followers.
