Twin attractions showcase Lake District at major UK tourism trade show

Written by on 17/09/2021

Windermere Lake Cruises and the Lakeland Motor Museum will help fly the flag for the Lake District at the UK’s biggest tourism trade show since the start of the pandemic.

They’ll be among over 250 exhibitors at the two-day British Tourism and Travel Show at the NEC in Birmingham on Sept 22/23. It’s the first major domestic tourism event in 18 months.

The show is for tour operators and group travel companies looking for exciting new ideas for trips, tours and itineraries as the travel market looks to fully recover following months of disruption.

Windermere Lake Cruises’ Sales & Marketing Director Jennifer Cormack says: “A cruise on Windermere is the quintessential way for groups to experience the stunning scenery surrounding England’s largest lake. We are delighted to be re-connecting with group travel operators and tour companies after so much disruption. We have so much to offer here in the Lake District and look forward to highlighting all that the area has to offer.

“It’s great to be able to look to the future and plan tours and excursions with confidence again. We will be highlighting new packages and itineraries that will be available for 2022 and beyond.”

Windermere Lake Cruises has attractive incentives for pre-booked groups and their coach drivers at the Boatman’s Café in Bowness. For passengers, these include 10% discount vouchers to use in the café and gift shop, along with new menus, table service and convenient toilet facilities. For drivers and group guides, the attraction offers free parking, group rates, a voucher for refreshments and the opportunity to purchase local gifts at a reduced rate and to re-sell to passengers at the full rate.

Windermere Lake Cruises sister attraction The Lakeland Motor Museum is also a perfect attraction for tour operators and group travel companies. It offers the chance to re-live days gone by and explore more than 30,000 motoring exhibits including over 150 magnificent classic cars and motorbikes, bikes and automobilia displays.
