Double murder investigation launched after mother and daughter found dead in Burnley

A double murder investigation has been launched after a mother and daughter were found dead at their home.
Officers were called to a house in Reedley, near Burnley, at 8.45am on 1 October where they found two bodies, Lancashire Constabulary said.
There was also evidence of fire and smoke damage inside the house, the force added.
The victims are believed to be Dr Saman Mir Sacharvi, 49, and her daughter, Vian Mangrio, 14.
A post-mortem showed that Dr Sacharvi died from pressure to her neck and had also been assaulted.
Tests have shown Vian was badly burnt, but officials have not yet determined the cause of her death.
She was a pupil at Marsden Heights School in Nelson and lived with her mother.
Detectives are treating their deaths as murder and have called for anyone with information to come forward.
Superintendent Jon Holmes said: “This is a truly harrowing set of circumstances and my thoughts are very much with the loved ones of Dr Sacharvi and Miss Mangrio. They have my deepest condolences at this awful time.”
Mr Holmes said the investigation is in its early stages and detectives “are following a number of lines of enquiry to piece together exactly what has happened”.
Urging witnesses to come forward, he said: “Perhaps you have seen something suspicious close to the scene in recent days or weeks, maybe you have CCTV or dashcam footage taken in the area that you can share with us, or perhaps you think you know who may be responsible.
“Even if you think that the information you have is insignificant, please come and speak to us and let us be the judge.”
