Police identify woman who died in collision on A6

Police can confirm that the woman who died Wednesday (15th March) following a collision on the A6, south of Shap, is Rebecca Quail, known as Becca, aged 25, from Penrith.

She was driving a Citroen car, which was involved in a collision with a trailer carrying a mini digger on the A6 at around 8.30am. The trailer was being pulled by a Mercedes Sprinter van prior to the collision. The car was driving south and the van was heading north.

Anyone who witnessed what happened and has yet to come forward is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101 quoting incident number 33 of 15 March 2017.
