Soupologie recalls three of its soups over listeria fears

Written by on 14/09/2019

Food company Soupologie has recalled three varieties of soup over fears they could contain listeria.

The Foods Standards Agency (FSA) said the products may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes which can cause symptoms similar to flu, including high temperatures, muscle ache, pain, chills, feelings of sickness and diarrhoea.

The 600g soups affected are the five-day classic tomato soup with carrot and red pepper (batch code 03969, best before 1 October 2019), the broccoli, pea and basil (batch code 03984, best before 2 October 2019) and the pea and leek (batch code 03980, sell-by date 2 October 2019).

The FSA said: “If you have bought any of these products, do not eat them. Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund, with or without receipt.

“Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.”

Customers can contact Soupologie 01354 697645 or e-mail: Info@soupologie.com.
