Natwest apologises over money ‘disappearing’ from app transfers

Natwest has apologised after customers said money was “disappearing” when they made transfers using the bank’s mobile app.

The high street lender said an error had caused a half-hour delay when transfers were being made.

It said the problem had now been fixed and customers should not re-send any payments they had already made.

There was another glitch on the app two months ago, causing delays of more than eight hours during the Black Friday sales period.

“We are aware that some NatWest customers experienced a short delay in funds leaving or reaching their accounts this afternoon,” a NatWest spokesperson said.

“This issue has now been resolved and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
