Jon Bon Jovi to record charity single for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games

Written by on 21/02/2020

Jon Bon Jovi is to record a charity single for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation.

Called Unbroken, it honours the service of military veterans living with post traumatic stress disorder.

Harry will be present when the US rock star sings with the Invictus Games Choir in London on 28 February.

The announcement was made as the prince’s Instagram account shared a mocked-up light-hearted exchange of text messages between him and the musician.

The conversation began with Jon Bon Jovi asking the Duke of Sussex “how’s it going?” to which Harry replies with an amusing reference to one of the singer’s hits: “I’m good! Just livin’ on a prayer…”.

The charity song will be recorded at Abbey Road Studios, made famous by The Beatles.

After watching the performance, the Duke of Sussex will meet members of the choir and competitors from previous Invictus Games who have been invited to attend.

The games – being held in May this year in The Hague – is a multi-sport competition in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and veterans participate.

The duke founded the event – held for the first time in London in 2014.

Both of Jon Bon Jovi’s parents served in the US Marine Corps, and Unbroken will feature on his next album, to be released this year.

The charity recording of the song will be out in March.
